Memorial Day Weekend: Your Health Does Not Take a Holiday

Memorial Day weekend is a time to pause, remember, and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. It is also the unofficial start of summer, a weekend filled with family gatherings, travel, barbecues, outdoor activities, and time away from the usual routine.
At Beverly Hills Institute, we want our patients to enjoy the holiday weekend with peace of mind. Your membership is designed to provide more than routine medical care. It gives you access, guidance, and support when you need it most, including during long weekends and holidays.
24/7 Access for Urgent Medical Concerns
Medical issues do not always happen during business hours. A fever, infection, medication concern, blood pressure problem, respiratory symptoms, injury, abdominal pain, or worsening chronic condition can create uncertainty quickly.
As part of your membership, you have 24/7 access to our practice for urgent medical care needs. This does not replace emergency services for true life-threatening emergencies, but it does mean that when you are unsure what to do, you can contact us first.
Our goal is simple: help you get the right level of care at the right time.
Whenever possible, we want to help our patients avoid unnecessary urgent care visits, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations by providing timely medical guidance and treatment.
Same-Day Telehealth Visits
For many urgent concerns, a same-day telehealth visit can provide the fastest and most convenient way to be evaluated.
Through telehealth, we can review your symptoms, medications, medical history, recent labs or imaging when available, and help determine the next best step. In many cases, this may include treatment recommendations, prescriptions, testing, close follow-up, or an in-office visit if needed.
Telehealth is especially helpful during a holiday weekend when travel, family plans, or limited clinic availability elsewhere may make it harder to access care.
Same-Day or Next-Day Office Visits
When an in-person evaluation is needed, your membership also includes access to same-day and/or next-day office visits whenever clinically appropriate and available.
Some symptoms require a hands-on exam, testing, imaging, labs, or procedures. Because Beverly Hills Institute has extensive in-office diagnostic capabilities, we can often evaluate and manage concerns efficiently without immediately sending patients elsewhere.
This access is one of the most important benefits of being part of a membership-based practice. It allows us to respond quickly, personally, and with knowledge of your medical history.
Call Us First When You Are Not Sure
During Memorial Day weekend, please remember: if you have an urgent medical concern and are unsure whether you need urgent care, the emergency room, or can be treated safely through our office, contact us first.
Examples may include:
Fever, cough, sore throat or flu-like symptoms
Urinary symptoms or suspected infection
Medication reactions or urgent refill concerns
Blood pressure or blood sugar concerns
New pain, swelling, rash, or skin infection
Worsening chronic medical conditions
Abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, or dehydration concerns
Post-hospital or post-procedure concerns
For life-threatening emergencies such as chest pain, severe shortness of breath, stroke symptoms, severe allergic reaction, loss of consciousness, or major trauma, call 911 immediately.
Enjoy the Weekend Safely
Holiday weekends can also bring preventable health issues. Stay hydrated, be careful with alcohol, protect yourself from the sun, take medications as prescribed, and be mindful of food choices, especially if you have diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, or gastrointestinal conditions.
If you are traveling, make sure you have enough medication for the weekend and know how to reach us if a medical issue arises.
We Are Here When You Need Us
At Beverly Hills Institute, our mission is to provide highly personalized, proactive, and accessible medical care. Your membership is built around that promise.
This Memorial Day weekend, we hope you enjoy a meaningful time with family and friends while remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
And if a medical concern comes up, please know that we are here for you.
